I love how people assume that being white just means the world falls at your feet, that you have no problems in life, that you have the privilege to do whatever it is you want or feel whenever you like. As if being born white means you’re born into a Paris Hilton-esque world of dripping diamonds, caviar and men offering you the world.
No white girl ever has grown up in poverty, had parents who were physically or emotionally abusive, been stuck in a physically or emotionally violent and manipulative romantic relationship.
And you know, no black or brown girl has ever made more than chump change doing sex work. None of them have ever, ever been able to command a high rate per hour. Never worked as high class escorts or strippers. None of them have ever been empowered by sex work and used it to fund their tertiary education or own business or pay off their mortgage.
OHMYGOD.
